旦那/檀那 means "master that the house" in the kind of "male head the household" context, and implying "husband" due to the fact that of that. It can only use to men. You could ask a housewife about her husband, "is this her 旦那?" Housewives can additionally refer to their husbands with this. (Togusa saying shit like this is among the countless reasons there's an absurd amount of shipping that Batou/Togusa!) but a an extremely slang-ish usage of the ax just method ""big man" or "head honcho", because that instance likewise to the expression "he attract the pants roughly here" also for platonic/working relationships.

I've been told (after do the mistake) the it's yes sir for women to use this word once referring to their very own husbands, however others have to use ご主人 .

檀那

How lot do you see that kanji representation in contemporary Japanese?

A fair number of Japanese have told me that is just wrong, also though the dictionary lists it, obviously.

He claims ねぇ旦那, which converts to something choose this(apparently). Ns pulled that the end of the Japanese subtitles. Who ever before did the English subs figured "meh, big man dead the idea".
