You are watching: Two and a half men intro
Who is really singing Two And A Half Men"s annoyingly catchy theme song? Two And A Half Men is a sitcom that debuted in 2003 and originally centered on the broke Alan (Jon Cryer) moving into his brother Charlie"s (Charlie Sheen) Malibu beach house after he divorces his wife. The half man of the title refers to Alan"s adorably dimwitted son Jake (Angus T. Jones), and the series revolved around Charlie"s lifestyle of casual sex and drinking contrasting with Alan"s perpetual loser status.
Like most Chuck Lorre created sitcoms such as The Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men rarely received warm reviews, but it was a ratings juggernaut. It was one of the most popular sitcoms on TV, but it became just as famous for its behind the scenes issues. Charlie Sheen abruptly exited following season 8 and was promptly fired by CBS for this behavior and feud with Lorre. While Hugh Grant briefly considered taking over as a new character, Ashton Kutcher was instead drafted as lovelorn billionaire Walden Schmidt. Jones would also undergo a religious conversation in later seasons that not only saw him exit the series but condemn its content as filth.

That said, the actor returned for a cameo in Two And A Half Men"s series finale. Charlie"s character on the show wrote commercial jingles, so it makes sense the theme for Two And Half Men itself is quite catchy. Annoyingly so, as it just consists of the words "men" and "manly" over and over again. Lorre himself co-wrote this theme with Lee Aronsohn, and the opening credits feature the cast "singing" the song directly to the camera. Needless to say, that"s not them singing.
The Two And A Half Men theme is sung by studio musicians, while prolific voice actress Elizabeth Daily (The Powerpuff Girls) stood in for "Jake"s" voice. The intro was also famous for changing every season as it charted the ever-changing looks of Jake as Jones grew up on the series. Kutcher was added to the opening credits theme from season 9 onwards.

Two And A Half Men ultimately ran for twelve seasons and came to an end in 2015, which featured cameos from Christian Slater and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Jon Cryer has since won new fans for playing Lex Luthor in the Arrowverse - which is a nice callback to his role as Lenny Luthor in Superman IV: The Quest For Peace - but there don"t seem to be any plans for a Two And A Half Men revival. While Sheen has appeared open to a reboot in recent years, the uneasy relationship between him and Lorre would likely prove a major barrier to one moving ahead.
